The 67 year old actor suffers from a tragic affliction… Bruce Willis, his family has announced on March 31st 2022, has been diagnosed with aphasia. This is a brain disorder, often the result of a stoke, tumor or blunt force trauma, that causes a person to slowly lose his or her ability to speak, write and communicate with others. You cannot be an actor with such a condition.

Bruce Willis has tried his hardest to keep acting, however, to provide for his family after he is gone. He’s been reportedly receiving his lines through earpieces on-set, allowing him to keep acting throughout previous years as he battled his disease in private. Last week, rumors in a ‘blind item’ spread that Bruce Willis has a form of Alzheimer’s… this forced his family to reveal that, no, Willis does not, in fact, have Alzheimer’s. It’s a different sort of disease. But in its own way, every bit as cruel and dehumanizing.

Why is Bruce Willis ending his career and going into early retirement?

Now he’s announcing his retirement. Bruce Willis wants to spend the years left to him with his loved ones — his wife, Emma, his ex-wife, Demi, and his five daughters. He’s famously great friends with his ex-wife and both wives are also friends with each other. As a cruel disease threatens to slowly rob him of his ability to talk, he no doubt wants to spend whatever time left to him to tell them how much he loves them.

It’s a shame Bruce Willis has to end his career due to health problems. And it’s also a shame the rumor mill forced him into admitting it before he was ‘ready’ to do so. I wish him well and hope he finds peace and tranquility with his loved ones, away from prying eyes.
